About the event
Parents and teachers can come to Waldorf Math K-3 to learn creative ways of introducing (and practicing) math concepts taught to ages 5-9yrs old. Parents of toddlers and preschool aged children can benefit from this training; however, it's not recommended to provide formal instruction until age 6y (or mature "school ready" five).
Your host, Chelsea Vail, is a certified EC-4th grade teacher with over twenty years experience working with parents and children of all ages and abilities. She founded and operated Epoch, originally a K-5th grade Waldorf-inspired microschool.
Leave this workshop with an underatanding of how children learn, quality of numbers, place value, four math operations, number gnomes, multiplication songs, fact family houses, ten-point stars, geometry/division and the seasons, perpetual calendars, and how to apply basic math skills at home daily WITH your child. Learn resources available to you!
